For example, I just created a file consisting of a Piano Grand Staff using the Wizard. Perhaps you could change the playback sounds and see if that helps. When you create a new notation file with the wizard in Finale or Print Music, the page and system sizing usually is not 100. How is Finale generating the sound? I"m not at my "Finale computer" but you can choose whether it "plays" Quicktime sounds, Garritan samples, etc. I have full blown finale and it pretty much does what I ask, but if there's an option that's not grayed out, that should work for you too (I would think). I"m not sure why you're having a hard time generating an audio file from Finale, or if that's a limitation of the version you have. However, once Finale burns the audio file, it's frozen for all of eternity. With audio, once you generate the audio file out of Finale, it can't help but work in GB. IOW, I send the chart via email and they can print it out at their location. My requirements are: Must be easy to e-mail a file to a collaborator with the receiver able to get a free viewer that will print the music. With MIDI, you'll have more flexibility to tweak the sounds in GB, although there may be a mapping issue if the MIDI notes Finale has assigned to the drums doesn't coincide out of the box with GB's drum sounds. Finale PrintMusic 2008 Ive been looking for a notation program to do simple lead sheets and arrangements for small groups. You could try this two ways - exporting a MIDI file from Finale and importing that into GB, or generate an audio file from Finale and bring that into GB as pure audio. I went to File, Save as Audio File., I tried Standard Audio File and then also Compressed MP3 File, and when I clicked Save, it said "Could not create the audio file (the file may be in use by another application)." both times.Īm I doing something wrong? or is there another way to do this? (is this a problem for mac users only?).
